What is Solarpunk Living?
Solarpunk is a way of reimagining our lives, homes, and communities so that they give back more than they take. It’s a movement rooted in grounded optimism - a belief that while we face very real challenges, we can also choose resilience, creativity, and joy in how we respond.
For me, solarpunk is about:
🌿 Intention + regenerative living. Building habits and systems that restore, not deplete.
🌞 Consuming less and creating more. Prioritizing creativity, reuse, and local connection over endless consumption.
✨ Healing ourselves and the planet. Recognizing that self-care and earth-care are deeply intertwined.
Practical Skills, Habits, and Swaps
Solarpunk living isn’t abstract. It’s hands-on. It’s the way we choose to cook, plant, repair, and connect with others.
In practice, it can look like:
Transitioning to sustainable habits and conscious consumption.
Growing food (even if it’s just herbs on a sunny windowsill) and trying to regrow food scraps at home.
Learning simple skills like repairing, sewing, planting, and cooking with less waste.
Participating in mutual aid, tool libraries, or community gardens to share resources instead of over-consuming them.
These are small acts, but they’re also acts of resistance. Tiny sparks of culture that challenge the story of endless growth and disposable living.

Why Community Matters
Living this way alone can feel overwhelming. That’s why community is at the heart of solarpunk. When we gather, share, and support one another, we build something far more powerful than what we could do alone.
Together, we can:
Create and support spaces that model solarpunk values - like co-ops, eco-hubs, and shared transport.
Promote regenerative education in schools and local programs.
Collaborate on community resilience plans, especially as climate change affects our daily lives.
Prioritize local businesses and systems over corporations that extract and exploit.
Community turns small actions into movements. And movements spark systemic change.
Reimagining Our Future
Solarpunk also invites us to think bigger and to imagine new economies and systems that put people and the planet before profit.
That might sound far away, but it starts with small, intentional steps:
Choosing local over corporate.
Buying less, upcycling more.
Supporting regenerative practices.
Translating complex ideas like degrowth or post-capitalism into simple, hopeful choices anyone can make.
This isn’t about guilt or perfection. It’s about building a future rooted in care, nature, and community.
Introducing the Solarpunk Living Circle
The Solarpunk Living Circle is my next step with The Eco Connection. It’s a membership community designed to bring these values to life.
With monthly eco-swaps, zero waste recipes, virtual meetups, and more to help us live solarpunk together.
This will be a space for grounded optimism, practical action, and collective resilience. A space to belong, share your ideas and experiences, experiment, and share.
Because the truth is: our actions alone won’t solve everything. But together, they can spark a movement.
Join the Solarpunk Movement
I’m opening the Circle soon, and I’d love for you to be part of it from the beginning.
Join the waitlist to be the first to know when doors open.
You’ll also get a few emails over the next week with actionable solarpunk living tips with simple swaps, prompts, and ideas to get started right now.
Together, we can create & live the future we dream of. 🌞
